She/Her

Profile

Bursting onto the scene at the tender age of 16 as part of Channel Ten's Search for a Supermodel, Kate could never have foreseen the incredible path that her career would take.

A motorsport presenter by day, Kate balances her love of motors port with her passion for and fascination with wine. An area of interest for her over many years, Kate has completed her wine and sommelier qualifications (most recently undertaking her WSET 4) and currently partners with a range of clients in a hosting capacity for key events.

Kate believes that enjoying and experimenting with wine (if done well) can be enjoyable and fun and relaxing and Kate’s approach is to take people on a journey of wine discovery without all the pomp and ceremony. An energetic and accomplished presenter, Kate’s style is relaxed, joyful, and professional with just the right amount of humour and the best bit is - she really knows wine.

Talking Points

Masterclass Blending Experience

Working with a local winery - attendees can get involved in their very own Masterclass blending experience. Each participant will be provided with 3 wine samples, with some education provided on the role each varietal (sample) will play and then they’ll be encouraged to create their own blend - and take home their very own personalised bottle.

Tasting wine like a pro

Ever wondered about the art of wine tasting - how on earth do wine pro's pick up flint, clove, banana and even brioche? How do they make that weird aerating sucking sound with their mouth and why do they swill and then spit? In this experience Kate Peck shares everything you need to know about tasting wine according to the WSET (Wine Spirit Education Trust) standards and a few 101's of talking to sommeliers and the etiquette of ordering and tasting wine in restaurants.

Blind Tasting

One to truly indulge the senses! Would you know what colour wine you were tasting if you couldn’t see. With a little bit of education and knowledge, could you pick the grapes, the region it comes from - what about the country - is it a Pinot from Aus or a Chablis from France? With a little bit of knowledge, Kate will have attendees knowing everything they need to know about the different varietals and wine regions from across the world.
