Pip Marlow is the new Head of Strategic Innovation at Suncorp, beginning in 2017.
Microsoft: She was the Managing Director of Microsoft Australia. She was with the software giant for over 21 years, including a seven-year stint with the company in the US. Ms Marlow began running Microsoft's public sector arm in January 2008, after heading its small and medium business sales division.
The New Zealand-born executive was instrumental in inking whole-of-government deals with the federal government and Queensland at a time when the company's global Windows licensing revenue continues to erode.
Pip Marlow also oversaw Microsoft's enterprise business and focused attention on keeping Microsoft at the forefront of the cloud market, as well as employee engagement program, boosting channel partner relationships, building on Microsoft's mobile offerings (with a particular emphasis on Australian-made) and preaching a new message of interoperability between proprietary systems and open source software.
Before Microsoft: Immediately prior to her appointment as Managing Director of Microsoft Australia in January 2011, Pip held the joint role of Enterprise and Partner Group director and Public Sector director. Before joining Microsoft, Pip was part of the founding team at Agate Technology, a company that grew to be one of Australia's largest storage distributors. One of Pip's first roles in the IT industry was at Samsung Information Systems where she was responsible for building the company's semi-conductor distribution business. Pip enjoys working in a vibrant team environment and her proudest achievements are those that have come from collaborating with others.
