Sally Loane joined Coca-Cola Amatil in January 2006 as the Director of Media and Public Affairs after 25 years in the media, working as a journalist and columnist for Australia's major newspapers, including The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Sun, The Courier-Mail, the Sun Herald and The National Times.

Current work

Sally Loane is a Director of Waratahs Rugby and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Deputy Chair of the Committee for Sydney and former Chair of the Salvation Army's Sydney East Doorknock Appeal.

Previous experience

Radio: She spent five and a half years as a broadcaster for ABC radio in Sydney where she hosted the Morning program on 702 ABC Sydney. Sally has also had extensive experience as a professional public speaker and MC.

Newsreader: She worked as a newsreader/reporter on Channel 10 in the 1980s and spent several years in the press gallery in Parliament House, Canberra.

Education: Sally grew up on a wool-growing property near Tenterfield, NSW and the sale of her family's property was featured on the ABC's Australian Story. She was educated at Somerville House, Brisbane and read Arts at the University of Queensland.

Author: Sally wrote her first book, Who Cares - Guilt, Hope and the Child-Care Debate, an investigative examination of the child care industry, in 1997, and has contributed to many other publications, including magazines and books including My Sporting Hero and What Women Want.

Sally was the consummate professional. She took the time to do a lot of work upfront including meeting with our CEO to discuss the evening and the key messages. She was right on the mark in terms of her approach to the audience and she managed to make the evening both informative and entertaining. Nothing was too much trouble for her.
