After graduating from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1984, he practiced in several rural and city locations. His service with the Royal Flying Doctor Service cemented his interest in rural health and wellbeing for remote people, in particular, men. He pursued his interest in the prevention of illness, early screening and detection in the USA and the UK.

Dr Ford managed the venue very well - outdoors with no amplification, a spread out audience and vocal competition from the local fauna. His delivery contained great humour which complemented the seriousness of his message. We received very positive feedback from our participants. It was an inspiring way to start the day… All in all, a success for all concerned. Health Insurance Commission

Our highest ranking speaker at this year's conference. The hardest timeslot, being at the end of a full day of sessions. Excellent presentation and entertaining subject.
