Tom Connell has been working in Canberra on federal politics since 2012, in a range of hosting roles for Sky News.
He is currently anchor on Politics Now and Afternoon Agenda, as well as the Chief Election Analyst for the network. He has built an avid following being able to explain elections and polling, as well as early and accurate calls on elections nights in key seats and calling the winner.
Tom is also the President at the National Press Club, where he has been on the board since 2019. Tom has an expert knowledge in federal politics and loves to dive in to policy debate and discussion. He is equally adept at more light-hearted interviews with many years hosting a news show which covers the full news spectrum.
Tom has reported from dozens of countries overseas, extensively on bushfires and floods, as well as complex court proceedings. His many hours on-air and often unscripted mean he can handle any live situation with aplomb.
Tom has two young children, tries to keep up his conversational French, and loves to follow cricket, golf and Australian Rules Football in his spare time.
