Matt Rockman is an investor in venture businesses and successful tech entrepreneur. He co-founded SEEK.com and currently works with Square Peg Capital in Los Angeles, driving investment in high growth tech companies.

Since leaving SEEK in 2006, Matt has made the transition from business builder to sophisticated investor and entrepreneur, supporting a number of successful start-ups. He enjoys the way markets work and believes real value is created through people as the most important ingredient.
Passionate about social change, Matt runs a philanthropic foundation with his wife, advising and investing in charitable projects focused on benefiting children.
Matt is also an accomplished speaker, presenting at key events for Fortune 500 companies. He is currently co-producing a video series with Private Media Group.
Previous experience
SEEK : When Matt created SEEK, Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site, with brothers Paul and Andrew Bassat in 1997, they were taking on the mighty newspaper companies at their own game. Against all the odds SEEK managed to completely transform the landscape of employment advertising, becoming one of Australia's most successful online businesses, and now an ASX Top 100 Listed company with a market capitalisation of over $5 billion. It now has businesses in the UK, China, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia.
Awards : Matt and his partners were winners of the southern region E&Y Entrepreneur Of The Year Award and the early stage cut and thrust of start-ups is still where Matt feels most at home.
Education : Matt Rockman holds a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) from Monash University and an Adjunct Professorship from RMIT University’s School of Business.
